FAQ
Got a question? We may have an answer! Below are the most frequently asked questions. Please read this before asking a question using the contact forms, or asking on the service forums.
Q: Why can't I access the community forums after registering on the website?
A: You must register a separate account on the community forums. Both sites are treated as separate accounts. We do this to protect your security, and to have atleast one site always up when the other's down for maintenance.
Q: Why do you have two forums?
A: We have two forums to keep the community organized. With two forums, members know where to post game related stuff, and where to post support requests or engage in with the dev team.
Q: What are coins and how do they work?
A: Coins are rewards for participation in events, contributions to ioMMO, referring friends, and more! Coins are used for many features. They're not intended on giving members a certain privilege other members cannot enjoy. All features are available to everyone. Let's say there's a new game, and they're giving out 10,000 beta keys. We'll reserve let's say 500 beta keys, and the 9,500 keys would be up for grabs. When the 9,500 beta keys run out, beta keys may only be bought using coins. We'll have these open to only coin purchases for a set time, and then the remainder will be released again for a first come, first serve basis. You can also buy badges, priority downloads for games, and more!
Q: Why are my coins on the site different than the coins on the community forums?
A: There's two methods for obtaining coins. The first is of course through the site by making posts, referring friends, writing articles, and so on. The second method is on the community forums. It's a bit different there, since you don't get coins for making posts. Coins on the community forums are awarded by other members, and by members of the ioMMO team for participation and recognition on the community forums.
Q: What qualifies as a FAQ, and how often is the list updated?
A: Any question that is asked by more than 25% of the community is treated as an FAQ. Most times, the list will be updated on a question by question basis. When the maintainers of the FAQ list are away for a certain period of time, all questions will be compiled and reviewed for adding to the FAQ list when they return.
